Karo Torossian

karo.jpgKaro Torossian is the Chief of Staff for Councilmember Krekorian. As Chief, he works closely with Councilmember Krekorian on all aspects of his policy portfolio and works to ensure that constituent services, communications, and planning efforts are made seamlessly and effectively while managing staff in two offices. 

Previously as the Director of Planning and the Environment for Councilmember Krekorian, Karo led office's policy and planning affecting the built environment, including land-use, economic development and revitalization projects, and the LA River.

Karo has been a part of the Council District 2 team since 2009, previously serving  east Valley constituents as then-Assemblymember Krekorian’s Valley Field Deputy.

As a native Angeleno raised in Council District 2, Karo understands the issues and the history of the San Fernando Valley. He attended Los Angeles Valley College for his first two years of college, subsequently transferring to UCLA where he received his bachelor’s degree in political science and labor and workplace studies. Karo completed his master’s degree in urban and regional planning from California Polytechnic University Pomona. He and his wife live in the Valley with their two young children.

Jackie Keene

Jackie.jpgJackie Keene is the Director of Community Improvements for Councilmember Krekorian. She oversees all field operations including community outreach, city department issues, neighborhood projects and improvements, and constituent relations in District 2.

Jackie brings more than 25 years of public service experience to the team, serving for Mayor Tom Bradley, LA City Councilmembers Laura Chick and Wendy Greuel, as well as State Assembly Speaker Robert Hertzberg. Additionally, she served in the United States Embassy in London, conducting research for the Embassy’s Economic Section.

A graduate of Pepperdine University, Jackie resides on land in Woodland Hills, but as an avid swimmer, she prefers to spend her spare time in or near the water. She is the proud parent of three “adult-like” children.

Aaron Ordower

Aaron Ordower is Senior Policy Deputy for Councilmember Paul Krekorian, Aaroncovering policy initiatives that include the environment, climate change, and housing. 

Aaron has worked for a dozen years on environmental sustainability, urban infrastructure, and economic development at organizations including the New York City Mayor’s Office, the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development, and the World Bank.  Aaron helped craft and pass New York City’s historic 2019 Climate Mobilization Act and oversaw that city’s programs designed to help the private sector reduce building energy use.  He helped to design and launch New York City’s first “green” affordable housing preservation program and worked on many policy initiatives to ensure low-income residents benefited from investments in clean energy.  Aaron started his career working on sustainable development technical assistance and investment lending in Latin America.

Aaron earned his BA in Political Science and Latin American Literature from UC Berkeley and his Masters in Urban and Regional Planning from UCLA.  Aaron is a native Angeleno and is thrilled to return home after ten East Coast winters.

Lorraine Diaz

Lorraine.jpegLorraine Diaz is Councilmember Krekorian’s District Director. She represents the Councilmember at public meetings and events, works with constituents, agencies, and other branches of government to improve neighborhoods and resolve their concerns. 

Before joining the Council District 2 team, Lorraine was a logistics coordinator for an international trucking company, facilitating the timely import of refrigerated produce. 

A native Angeleno, Lorraine moved away to study international business at the Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara. She currently lives in the Valley and enjoys exploring Los Angeles with her husband and two children.

Yolanda Ramos

Yolanda Ramos is the Executive Assistant / Scheduler for Councilmember Krekorian. She coordinates the front office in City Hall, assists with bus requests, and facilitates the processing of certificates and resolutions.

Yolanda has worked for various Los Angeles City Councilmembers in her 17 years of city service. During this time, she also worked as an eligibility worker for the San Bernardino County’s Dept. of Public Social Services.

Yolanda grew up in Boyle Heights, then moved to South Gate and attended East Los Angeles College. She later moved to Perris in Riverside County where she now lives with her spouse, children and grandchildren.

Sahag Yedalian

Sahag Yedalian is the Senior Transportation Deputy and Special Events Coordinator for Councilmember Krekorian's District Office. While managing community projects and building relationships with local businesses, non-profits, and other government agencies, he focuses on working as a team with his counterparts on the local, state and federal level to solve community issues.

Before joining the Council District 2 staff, Sahag worked for several political candidates at the local and federal levels. He holds a BA in political science with a focus in public administration and minor in economics, from Cal State Los Angeles. He earned his MPA in 2018, with a focus in City/County Management, from USC.

Growing up in Pasadena, Sahag has been heavily involved in his community through various community organizations and has served on the City of Pasadena’s Human Relations Commission.
