CALIFORNIA’S LARGEST VILLAGE OF TINY HOMES TO SHELTER THE HOMELESS OPENS IN NORTH HOLLYWOOD

Today Los Angeles City Councilmember Paul Krekorian officially opened the Alexandria Park tiny home village in North Hollywood. Built and funded entirely by the City, the site has 103 individual shelters and200 beds, the largest of its kind in the state.

New Health and Recreation Center Coming to North Hollywood

Last weekend, I had the pleasure of breaking ground on New Directions for Youth's (NDY) Health and Recreation Center in North Hollywood. This was a special event for me because I have long supported NDY's work with at-risk youth. For more than 43 years, NDY has transformed tens of thousands of young lives by creating a positive atmosphere for children in the San Fernando Valley. NDY serves 3,000 youth each year and has provided free services for a whopping 90,000 people in our communities.

City Officials Break Ground on Project to Clean Valley Groundwater

NORTH HOLLYWOOD - Councilmember Krekorian joined Mayor Eric Garcetti and other city officials to break ground on the North Hollywood West Groundwater Treatment Project, a $92 million project to clean up and restore the use of groundwater as a safe, high-quality source of drinking water in the San Fernando Valley.

Update on Whitnall Off-Leash Dog Park Improvements

Last fall, my office joined forces with dozens of community members to help North Hollywood’s Whitnall Off-Leash Dog Park win the Beneful Dream Dog Park competition. Together we succeeded due to a strong, united social media push by many North Hollywood residents, dog park users and my office.

Cool Pavements Turn Down the Heat on City Streets

NORTH HOLLYWOOD - This week, the Bureau of Street Services completed a brand new cool pavement installation on Atoll Avenue, from Barbara Ann Street to Gault Street. The pilot project, which applies a light gray coating onto the pavement, aims to reduce temperatures of street surfaces.

NORTH HOLLYWOOD - This week, the North Hollywood Recreation Center was abuzz with dozens of local organizations, volunteers and community members working to provide services and resources to homeless individuals in the East San Fernando Valley as part of Councilmember Krekorian's latest Homeless Connect Day.

Welcome New Americans

NORTH HOLLYWOOD - Councilmember Krekorian joined Hermanidad Mexicana Nacional to congratulate members of our community on becoming United States citizens. This week's ceremony celebrated more than 50 individuals who took their citizenship oath, possibly the most meaningful milestone in their long journey as immigrants. Their stories of struggle, hard work and determination show us all what it means to be an American.

Costco Business Center Opens in North Hollywood

NORTH HOLLYWOOD - This week, Councilmember Krekorian joined Costco CEO W. Craig Jelinek to celebrate the opening of Costco's first Business Center in Los Angeles, located in North Hollywood. Krekorian's office worked closely with Costco for two years to help them navigate the city's planning process and open their doors for business in the Valley.
