KREKORIAN/FEUER LETTER PROMPTS FAA TO EXTEND COMMENT PERIOD REGARDING BURBANK AIRPORT REPLACEMENT TERMINAL
In response to a request from Los Angeles City Councilmember Paul Krekorian and Los Angeles City Attorney Mike Feuer, the Federal Aviation Administration has granted an extension of the comment period regarding the draft Environmental Impact Statement for the proposed replacement terminal at the Hollywood Burbank Airport. The FAA action means the public now has until October 27 to comment on the nearly 3,000-page document.

For more than two years, the City Attorney and I have put the Federal Aviation Administration on notice that failure to comply with repeated requests for specific information about a southward shift in departures from Burbank Airport could prompt legal action. During that time the agency has answered our requests and those of the community with a series of evasive and hollow responses or non-responses.
