The 2015 Special Olympics Summer World Games is making its way to Studio City as athletes and law enforcement officers complete the final leg of the Olympic torch run.
Join Councilmember Krekorian and the Valley community to cheer on the athletes as they carry the Flame of Hope to the historic Campo de Cahuenga in host neighborhood Studio City before the opening of the 2015 games in Los Angeles.
The Special Olympics World Games, an international sports competition for children and adults with disabilities, includes more than 7,000 athletes representing 177 counties who are scheduled to participate in 25 Olympic-style sports in venues across LA County. The World Games will be the largest sports and humanitarian event in the world this year and the single largest event to be held in the greater LA area since the 1984 Olympic Games.
