Karo Torossian is the Chief of Staff for Councilmember Krekorian. As Chief, he works closely with Councilmember Krekorian on all aspects of his policy portfolio and works to ensure that constituent services, communications, and planning efforts are made seamlessly and effectively while managing staff in two offices. 

Previously as the Director of Planning and the Environment for Councilmember Krekorian, Karo led office's policy and planning affecting the built environment, including land-use, economic development and revitalization projects, and the LA River.

Karo has been a part of the Council District 2 team since 2009, previously serving  east Valley constituents as then-Assemblymember Krekorian’s Valley Field Deputy.

As a native Angeleno raised in Council District 2, Karo understands the issues and the history of the San Fernando Valley. He attended Los Angeles Valley College for his first two years of college, subsequently transferring to UCLA where he received his bachelor’s degree in political science and labor and workplace studies. Karo completed his master’s degree in urban and regional planning from California Polytechnic University Pomona. He and his wife live in the Valley with their two young children.
