Jessica Fugate is the Studio City and Valley Village Field Deputy for Councilmember Krekorian’s District Office. She represents the Councilmember at public meetings and events, works with constituents, agencies, and other branches of government to improve neighborhoods and resolve their concerns. She also handles business outreach for the district and is the main point of contact for entertainment companies and all filming related matters.
Before joining the Council District 2 team, Jessica worked as the Special Projects Coordinator for Councilmember David Ryu in Council District 4. While there, she facilitated the addition of 7 murals along Western Avenue through Mayor Garcetti’s Great Streets program. She also oversaw the office’s first Hollywood Sign traffic mitigation program working with LAPD Cadets and the Department of Recreation.
Prior to joining the City of Los Angeles, Jessica worked as the Public Relations Specialist for the Baltimore Area Council, Boy Scouts of America. While at the BSA, she managed the design and implementation of the Council’s revamped website, social media, e-newsletter, and magazine. She also oversaw the Council’s media relations and served as the press mediator to over 35,000 Scouting youth across 6 MD regions.
A transplant from Baltimore, she majored in Political Science at Goucher College with a minor in History (Eurasia). A 2009 graduate of the Hansard Scholar Programme, she also holds a certificate in Public Policy and Parliamentary Politics from the London School of Economics.
Jessica resides in the NoHo Arts district where she enjoys writing poetry and attending local theatre. She is a 2019 graduate of the Jewish Federation’s Rautenberg New Leaders Project and a 2018 graduate of the Anti-Defamation League’s Glass Leadership Program (GLI). She continues to serve as a NextGen Committee Member with ADL Southern CA.
