North Hollywood High Scores Again at Regional Science Bowl Competition

LOS ANGELES - Councilmember Krekorian honored North Hollywood High School on their 18th win at the annual Los Angeles Department of Water and Power Science Bowl Regional Competition.

Competing against more than 300 students who participate in the competition yearly, North Hollywood High's "A" Team and "B" Team narrowed the field to clinch the first and second place titles in LADWP's 25th annual competition.

Each year, LADWP Science Bowl tests the region's sharpest students' reflexes, teamwork skills, and knowledge in a fun and competitive atmosphere using a television game show format that involves answering toss-up and bonus questions, buzzers and timed responses. Members from North Hollywood's winning team each received a $1,000 Hitachi Scholarship and an all-expense paid trip to Washington, DC, where they represented the City of Los Angeles in the National Science Bowl.
